The Central Avenue Bus Service is a small, minority-owned transportation contracting business committed to providing school bus, charter bus and shuttle bus service in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. area.
Our Vision.
In 1989 Central Avenue Bus Service was founded by Rev. Norris A. Jones. During this time he was a school teacher and pastor raising three small girls with his wife. Given the demands of the economy and the need for affordable, reliable and flexible transportation service, Rev. Jones purchased his first school bus in hopes of making a change. Today, the central avenue bus service provides transportation for the DMV area. We are committed to servicing groups, organizations, schools, churches, etc. and making sure they have the best service possible. Central Avenue Bus Service believes the customer knows best and we aim to operate as your personal transportation company.
Company Profile.
CABS is a small, minority-owned business that employs 10+ people; this includes drivers, training staff, operations managers/directors, bus depot staff and head office staff. Our entire team is responsible for the fleet delivering quality service every transport.
CABS transport students to and from school, field trips to malls, museums, beaches and many other destinations. CABS also transportation for athletic groups to games and practice, as well as afterschool programs and weekend events. Charter bus services are also available from our depot.
Administration and Organization
Our depot concentrates on daily operations and bus maintenance, while our head office looks after centralized administrative functions. Our operations manager and operational support staff manages bus reservations and dispatch. Our depot is fully equipped with qualified, experienced mechanics. Routine maintenance requirements, including bus washing, gas fill ups and engine and brake checks.
